ANP / ADULT NURSE PRACTITIONER is needed for an expanding Multi-specialty Primary Care Practice. The TEAM is made up of a full-time Internist, Family Practitioner, two (2) Pediatricians and two (2) part-time Pediatricians. There is a excellent community referral system. The patient mix is 40% self pay and 60% Medicaid. The approximate caseload is 25-32 pts per day. The local population is 30k and 83k total service area. 7k patients. Very modern office with state of the art equipment. * NEW GRADS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. GYN experience is a plus but not required; GYN training will be provided.

* LOCATED in the heart of one of the most spectacular landscapes in the United States. The City of Auburn is situated a couple of miles from Owasco Lake and flanked on either side by nearly a dozen other lakes which comprise the Finger Lakes Region. Enjoy three State Parks, and the Erie Canal. There is an abundance of hiking, bike and snowmobile trails. Golf at one of ten public golf courses. Enjoy fishing, hunting, or camping. There are many summer and winter resorts located in this region which includes the village of Skaneateles only seven miles away located on Skaneateles Lake. This is where President and Mrs. Clinton have vacationed as well as past presidents and industrialists such as the Rockefellers. Auburn has a community college as well as a professional baseball team, the Auburn Doubledays. The Finger Lakes Region also offers an abundance of premium wineries, wine trails an abundance if bed and breakfast inns which follow the banks of five different lakes, Cayuga, Canandaigua, Keuka, Ontario, and Seneca. Only 23 miles from Syracuse and an international airport.

* COMPENSATION is $70k. Compensation increase on a average of 4% per year and is based on performance evaluations.

*JOB TYPE is Permanent/Retained Employee, Full-time.

* WORK SCHEDULE is Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 5:00 pm. NO CALL. After hours answering service, with very rare possibility of drive in. Occasional evenings until 7pm and occasional Saturdays 9am-12noon during the sick season.

* LICENSE and EDUCATION is an application for or possession of a New York State license, DEA#, CPR, PALS, ACLS. Degree must be a MSN. Experience in gynecological, maternity, adult medicine or community health nursing desirable. Must be certified to provide HIV pre and post test counseling within 4 months of hire. MIS skills desirable. Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 25 pounds. * NEW GRADS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.

* JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Perform physical examinations on well and ill clients and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines
* Assess health status by eliciting a complete health history, including information necessary to identify psychological or social factors bearing on an individual's health.
* Perform hospital rounds in collaboration with MD on hospitalized patients enrolled in the internal medicine program
* Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
* Record physical findings, and formulate plan and prognosis based on patient's condition
* Discuss cases with physician and other health professionals as necessary to prepare comprehensive care plan
* Review charts and participate in peer review and other quality assurance programs to promote optimal care
* Prescribe or recommend drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
* Refer patients to clinic physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
* Refer to appropriate community resources for follow-up monitoring of health status at home.
* Assist in the development of policies and protocol to better the delivery of care to patients enrolled into the internal medicine program
* Act in a leadership role on the internal medicine team and provides group and individual teaching for appropriate staff
* Participate in appropriate outside seminars, meetings and conferences when the emphasis is on primary care or other related topics

* BENEFITS:
1.) HEALTH INSURANCE is available. Single or family coverage. There are two (2) plans to choose from. Employer contributes up to $130/month toward the plan selected. Out of pocket expense varies depending on plan chosen.
2.) VACATION TIME is 3 weeks accrued the first year. After the fifth year of employment there is a 4th week added which includes CME time.
3.) CME is three (3) paid days and $500.00 reimbursement (Provided after the first six months of employment) (Can divide vacation & CME time as desired).
4.) SICK / PERSONAL TIME is 8 per year, accrued at 4.6 hours per month.
5.) PAID HOLIDAYS include 10 each year.
6.) RETIREMENT PLAN is a 401-k with a 3% employer match which may fluctuate based on the Board of Directors.
