Single Specialty Group of seven Gastroenterologists in SYRACUSE, NY is seeking a BOARD CERTIFIED GASTROENTEROLOGIST. Four (4) locations, all within ten mile radius. Two (2) locations with Endoscopic units, staffed with qualified specialty nurses. Excellent diagnostic and interventional radiology and surgical expertise that includes four (4) colorectal surgeons. Medicare 45%, Medicaid 3-5% & the rest commercial insurance. Two of the offices are condos, owned by a separate corporation; financial participation would be negotiable. House staff in family practice and general surgery covers our primary hospitals. Medical students from the university rotate through clerkships. Teaching is at the discretion of the private attending, but ample opportunities exist for lectures and clerkships. * LOCATED in the center of New York State in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region near Lake Ontario and Lake Oneida. A short distance from Rochester, Albany, Canada, the St. Lawrence River, the Adirondack Mountains and the Thousand Islands. There is a large selection of year round sports which includes many snow skiing and summer resorts and many tournament class golf courses. There is a Casino with regular scheduled Los Vegas quality shows and concerts. This metro area has 156k people living in the city and 456k in the county. There is a international airport with direct jet service to most major cities in the US. High quality education available. There is a large selection of inexpensively priced private schools. Some schools, both private and public, are nationally renowned for their academics and sports programs. There many colleges and universities in the region with Division One ranked football, basketball & lacrosse programs. The community is ethically diverse with many churches of varied denominations, synagogues, temples and mosques. There are private theater groups, museums, a symphony orchestra, many good restaurants to choose from and a regional IMAX Theater and Science Center. The job market is high tech in nature with health care research, a teaching hospital, a large pharmaceutical manufacturer and many engineering companies such as Welch Allen and Lockheed Martin to name a couple. There are many highways and very low traffic congestion. There is a rapidly expanding regional shopping mall located in the heart of the city. The region has many rolling hills and lakes. Moderate summer climate with average temperatures in the mid to high 70's. Seasonal climate changes are colorful. Low crime rate. * COMPENSATION Base pay $200k. Average bonus of 50-60% of annual base income. *JOB TYPE is Permanent/Retained Employee, full time. ELIGIBLE FOR PARTNERSHIP AFTER ONE (1) YEAR. * WORK SCHEDULE & ROUTINE Office hours are 8am-5pm. Call 1x6. While on call will work only in the hospital for that week. Call is split with another GI group on nights & weekends. Two (2) hospital affiliations: 1) St. Joseph's Hospital with 550 beds and 2) Community General Hospital with 250 beds. The physicians split their days in half. NY license or applied. Must be well-trained in cognitive and endoscopic aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology; diagnostic ERCP and therapeutic abilities. Training in endoscopic ultrasound and laser are desirable. Must be willing to lecture, teach, attend support group meetings, and to actively participate in hospital medical staff committee. * BENEFITS: 1.) LIFE INSURANCE: $50k 2.) AUTOMOBILE ALLOWANCE: Physician's responsibility to record it; reimbursed at 58 cents per mile, $4,400 reimbursed last year. 3.)
