Emergency Department Nursing Director   Department:  Nursing Administration  Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day Shift Hours: Day Shift Job Details: The Emergency Department Nursing Director is responsible for the promotion of clinical excellence in nursing practice and patient care delivery through planning, organization and implementation of such services. S/he manages the human, fiscal, and other resources available in collaboration with the Nursing Leadership Council. The ED Nursing Director is held accountable for the direction, management and development of the Emergency Department, administering the department budgets, policy and practice guideline development, performance improvement activities and promoting / marketing the services to the physicians and community at large. Experience: 3-5 years of Emergency Department experience with at least 3 years of progressive supervisory management experience. Ability to apply knowledge to complex matters and experience as well as sound decision making and problem solving techniques. Working knowledge of underlying principles, policies and procedures for the following entities: ENA,ANA,CMS and OSHA. Experience with shared governance model of nursing practice.
Required Skills: Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, BLS, CEN (or scheduled to sit for exam)
Education Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). MSN/MBA with a focus in nursing is recommended or equivalent preferred.
