Under general supervision, provides clinically competent professional nursing care in accordance with the multidisciplinary plan of care and physician orders. Meets and exceeds all performance expectations for Registered Nurse. Applies clinical expertise in evidence-based nursing practice within the specialty and functions in the following roles: clinical expert, educator, researcher, consultant and leader. Leadership skills (systems thinker and change agents) are role assumptions. Delivers and facilitates high quality progressive nursing care. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a licensed registered nurse who has graduate preparation (a Master's or Doctorate) in nursing as a CNS. The CNS is a clinical expert in theory-based and/or research-based nursing practice within a specialty area. 1. Education: Registered Nurse, Master's or Doctorate in nursing. Graduated from an accredited Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) program.2. Licensure: Registered Nurse certified by the State Board of Registered Nurses as a CNS. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider and ACLS status. Current certification in CCNS preferred. 3. Experience: At least three (3) years of clinical experience in critical care.4. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: See attached "Physical Requirements Grid" 5. Interpersonal Skills: Able to communicate with patients, families, nursing and hospital staff, physicians, and multidisciplinary team. Able to bring teams to consensus.6. Essential Physical Requirements: See attached "Physical Requirements Sheet".7. Essential Mental Abilities: Able to critically think and make clear decisions.8. Essential Sensory Requirements: Must be able to hear, see, verbally communicate, and have tactile sense.9.
