Click Here to Apply OnlineChief Nursing Officer - FT Exempt position The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible and accountable for integration, coordination and direction of nursing and patient care services within the hospital. Strives to achieve the goal of establishing and maintaining a caring environment for nursing practice and patient care. Shares responsibility for overall delivery of safe and effective care provided to patients as well as the financial and operating performance of the hospital.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans, organizes, directs and supervises patient care ensuring that it is provided in a safe, effective, timely, patient-centered and efficient manner Develops and implements, with input from Unit Nurse Managers, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care Responsible for the development and implementation of effective nursing care delivery systems throughout hospital Works with Nursing Service management team in the development and implementation of philosophy and objectives that ensure the highest level of quality care is provided and that regulatory requirements are met Develops nursing service policies and procedures for all clinical areas of practice Works with the medical staff and other clinical department heads in the development of clinical programs of care Demonstrates fiscal management skills associated with planning, budgeting and monitoring fiscal resources Participates in strategic planning activities and interprets the role of nursing in the institution's strategic plan Establishes and maintains the system of clinical and administrative records and reports to meet Joint Commission standards and provide information base for effective decision making Keeps the Chief Executive Officer informed of problems and needs of Nursing Service as well as routine activity Channels communications from Administration to Nursing Service management team to those affected by the communication Holds regular group and individual conferences with members of the nursing management team as a means of fostering good communications, exchange of ideas stimulus for motivation and appropriate follow-up Works with administration and other department heads in the development of fire and disaster plans Keeps abreast of current trends in nursing administration, clinical nursing and personnel mattersFamiliarizes self with economic factors and legislation that affects the hospital and nursing practice.
