As a Sr. Clinical Data Analyst/Data Analytics Specialist, you will be responsible for providing value through data to internal UnitedHealth Group customers, including divisional CEOs and Medical Directors. You will be accountable for ensuring quality, service, and efficiency in meeting/exceeding business goals. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for creating consultative relationships and reporting strategies for customers. Will implement integrated reporting strategies at the regional level for insight into affordability solutions and program improvement opportunities. Specific responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the mission of improving the quality and affordability of healthcare services
- Proactively managing high level, complex customer reporting issues
- Serving as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor for delivery of clinical analysis and reports
- Analyzing and reporting on medical cost drivers, existing service performance and clinical program outcomes
- Collaborating with Clinical Performance Managers to develop and present insightful and actionable analyses
- Leveraging standard and ad hoc reporting and analyses to review historical information and identify region and customer-specific clinical opportunities to influence health benefit costs and cost drivers
- Delivering or participating in presentations on new products/services, ongoing process improvement efforts and/or operational initiatives
- Participating in and/or leading the design/continuous improvement of clinical reports
- Contributing to the development of clinical recommendations and solutions that will reduce medical cost trends, admissions and high cost claimants
- Helping to develop meaningful metrics and targets, and measuring actual market results
- Fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with customers, ensuring goals, customer satisfaction, increased productivity and improved business processes are achieved
- Training stakeholders on how to effectively access and use reports
- Leading issue resolution efforts as required

Experience: Candidates will possess: - 5 + years of health care industry experiences, including knowledge of products/services and operational interdependencies in the managed care environment
- 8 + years of data analysis and reporting experience.
- Ability to translate detailed and complex data into understandable conclusions and offer valued solutions
- Specific experience with Clinical Data related to Case Management and/or Disease Management desired
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
- SAS experience strongly preferred.
- Well honed writing skills, verbal communication abilities and strategic thinking capabilities
- Proven track record of developing and delivering customer-focused presentations
- Proven consultative and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time appropriately
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills
- Technical knowledge of databases and specific experience with SAS desirable
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
- Bachelors Degree in business, research, or health care related field, or equivalent experience
