Director - (US-CA-Los Angeles - 91335) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Jobcode: N/A Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities:Position Summary: The primary focus of the Director “ Strategy & Operations position for TLC will report into the COO and will be leading special projects relating to new business development and new revenue generation from ancillary exploitation; analyses of efficiencies across network departments and corporate groups, and implementation of programs to improve them; partnering with finance to create metrics and analytics to guide key network decisions; assisting in strategic planning and execution on strategic plans; compilation of competitive business operations data. Responsibilities: 1.Work on strategic and business planning. 2.Identify, develop, pursue and negotiate new business opportunities and ancillary extensions of TLC programs. 3.Partner with CFO's office and programming to prepare show-specific P&Ls. 4.Work with CFO'S office to devise method for projecting and tracking show profitability and ROI. 5.Create system for managing and tracking programs and ancillary extensions across all platforms and exploitations. 6.Work with Marketing executives, and corporate research and marketing groups on articulating, and measuring the ROI performance of, marketing campaigns. 7.Manage special projects for the network. 8.Work with programming, scheduling and finance to model and track long range program planning. 9.Work with international to manage distribution of TLC programming. 10.Work with Commerce to exploit brand extensions. 11.Identify off-network syndication opportunities. 12.Identify potential business efficiencies within the network as well as between the network and corporate groups. Requirements: 5 years experience working in a business development and/or operational capacity in a cable network. 5 years experience with unscripted television production and distribution, as well as cable television ad sales. Prior experience with managing budgets and P&Ls. Demonstrated ability to formulate long-term strategies for growth through the development of new platforms and products. Exceptional leadership, management and organizational skills. Excellent written presentation skills. Highly developed written and verbal communications skills. Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, staff and external parties. Must have the legal right to work in the United States..
