Job Description:
Our client is passionate about technology, and they are looking for Project Managers who are as passionate as they are. Their technology team has been painstakingly culled from the top one percent of the IT world, and they are in search of more elite-level database developers. Like a Google or a Yahoo, the culture is highly creative, collaborative, and innovative. And very difficult to get into, as the hiring process is designed to filter out all but the most talented minds.
They are a rapidly growing company (currently 400 employees) that builds bleeding edge technology solutions for the education industry. They are a marketplace leader with tremendous presence, and are experiencing explosive growth.
The Project Manager works with senior corporate leadership and key customer accounts and partners, taking full responsibility for the development and ongoing enhancement of one or more of our handheld education software products. There is also very strong Business Analysis component to the role, especially in regard to writing functional requirements.
Responsibilities:
·Deliver design and development projects on time, on budget
·Create and track project plans
·Perform business analysis and write specifications
·Follow corporate process standards to meet project objectives
·Develop project estimates
·Manage scope throughout the project lifecycle
·Manage teams of up to 2-8 people including designers, architects, developers, QA
·Provide motivation and direction to the team
·Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria to the team
·Manage multiple elements (software, kits, training materials, documentation, etc) that come together to launch a new product
·Manage customer, third-party partner and vendor relationships as necessary
·Track and communicate project status, issues, risks and decisions to senior management
·Set project quality and performance standards
·Share knowledge and learning and contribute to the development of project management practice
Minimum Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree
·2+ years in role of project manager/business analyst using a formal software development lifecycle
·Experienced multiple full project lifecycles from concept to delivery
·Direct managerial responsibility for 2+ individuals
·Strong verbal and written communication skills
·Strong team work and interpersonal skills
·Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·Demonstrated leadership capacity (teams of 5 or more in multi-disciplinary environments—e.g., technology, user experience, design)
·Excellent organization skills; creativity and objective-oriented focus
