My successful and growing client is looking for a System/Production Engineer for their development staff in Santa Clara, CA.

5 years experience in large scale system deployment and Production environment, multiple subscribers

Must have:

deployed a Java application to multiple Jboss servers-not programming but deploying

Released SW patches, new releases to production environment, currently new releases are about 4 per year

Have done load balancing between JBoss Servers

Configuration of JBoss Servers, backups, etc.

Could also be Weblogic, Websphere with J2EE instead of Jboss

Requirement
App development:
Java ‐ (Basic knowledge of java JDK/JRE, Building and deploying Java, Java programming knowledge is a big bonus.)
Jboss ‐ (Virtual Hosting, Clustering, Tomcat )
Load Balancers ‐ (Understands sticky, weighted & round robin algorithms in depth.)
Apache HTTP Server (2.x)
Apache Ant
SVN/CVS
Shell Scripting
Log4J ‐ (Changing log levels, Reading and interpreting JBoss / MiNO Application logs)

Maintenance:
Familiar with backup solutions ‐ (AMANDA, TAR, CPIO, RSYNC)
Capable of writing scripts to automate these processes.
Worked in the past with IBM Blade Center hardware
OS: ‐ (Red Hat Linux, Solaris, In depth knowledge of built in software based firewalls)

DataBase:
MySQL ‐ (Clustering / Replication, Management – archiving and backups)
Networking:
TCP/IP and Cisco knowledge
Site to Site VPN tunnels
OS based firewalling
