Responsibilities: Support student and school success by promoting effective family engagement at community school sites through workshops and trainings, one-on-one and small group coaching, event/activity planning and organizing, home visits and other projects. Supports leadership development across four Redwood City Community School sites, creating mechanisms that support family engagement approaches at each of their school sites Works in close collaboration with the Community School Coordinator, faculty, staff and administration Focuses on outreach and support for families of students in transitional grades (entering K, 5 th Needs to be more specific Focuses support and outreach with parents of students participating in the after-school program Builds a pool of engaged parent leaders that continue to be involved while mentoring emerging parent leaders Supports ongoing communication among school staff, parents, and community members to strengthen the home-school-community partnership Works within a team structure that focuses on school and community engagement/leadership among the four Redwood City Community School sites Supports family engagement and involvement in the surrounding community Maintains accurate documentation, track impacts, evaluates the program and make suggestions for improvements. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or minimum of three years experience in related field of endeavor Ability to plan, initiate, and execute program activities in a collaborative and timely manner Successful experience in a school or non-profit setting Proven ability to communicate effectively with various levels of an organization and collaborative partners Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and Spanish Proficiency in Microsoft Word/File Maker Pro applications/Excel Successful experience working effectively in partnership and collaboration with broad range of individuals and constituencies of diverse cultural backgrounds..
