Responsibilities: Works under general supervision & requires working knowledge of I.C.F.M.R. standards for care of individuals & responsible for direct implementation of continuous active treatment services to assigned individuals for both increase of adaptive & decrease of maladaptive behaviors: implements large & small group training both on/off living area as designated in script outline (scenario); demonstrates appropriate large group training techniques (e.g., rotation of attention, verbal/physical interaction, prompting, reinforcement); provides individual protection from harm; trains individuals to function independently & implements formalized training programs for particular individuals to enhance skill acquisition (e.g., personal self-help skills, domestic living skills, mobility, recreation, leisure, vocational, communication, sex education, safety skills, community access programs, health care skills); demonstrates appropriate teaching techniques (e.g., verbal/physical engagement, prompting, fading, reinforcement, gentle teaching); areas of behavior reduction (e.g., aggression, self-injurious/self-stimulatory behaviors); demonstrates appropriate behavior reductive techniques (accepted facility techniques as indicated in individual behavioral program); ensures safe environment, safe practices, constant individual oversight & protection from self/others; provides for the basic health care needs of individuals. .
