CTU Onlines academic programs within the College of Health Sciences include an Associates degree program in Medical Billing and Coding (ASMBC), an Associates degree program in Health Information Management and Technology (AHIMT), and a 100% online RN “ BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) completion program. The COHS Employment Advisor is responsible for ensuring that all CTU Online students and alumni are well served and that CTU Online maintains effective communications with its graduates. A student-centered, customer service approach is necessary for follow-up phone contact with students and other student service departments. The CTU Online Career Services department adheres to a philosophy of service to the customer both internally and externally and supports achievement of the Universitys mission and objectives. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Collaborates with COHS Career Services Specialist, faculty, and career services staff to support students and graduates in the health sciences. Assists current students, recent graduates, and alumni of CTUs College of Health Sciences in their employment search in accordance with all school procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and the standards and requirements of all accrediting agencies Researches and analyzes regional and national employment trends for graduates of degree programs in CTUs College of Health Sciences. Conducts online workshops on job search techniques, interview skills, and employment trends within the healthcare industry. Assists in coordinating online job fairs and other student activities and events. Works with healthcare students in detail to create a resume or Curriculum Vitae, prepare them for interviewing, and assists with job search and in their career planning. Sends out appropriate job leads weekly or biweekly to students depending upon their status (current or graduate). Assists in making employer calls to help facilitate process of job leads. Provides detailed documentation of each contact / activity that was made with a student or graduate. Assists in developing surveys for students, alumni, and employers of CTU graduates. Assists with operations for CTU Onlines virtual graduation and for the online graduate population attending physical CTU commencement ceremonies. Upholds all CTU policies, procedures, integrity, and ethical standards. Assists in retention initiatives specific to 100% online students in the College of Health Sciences. Participates in strategic planning with the Director of Career Services, the online academic program chair, and the University Dean for Health Sciences. Performs all other duties as assigned. Job Specifications Knowledge Associate's required, BS/BApreferred Direct knowledge of and experience in the healthcare industry required, experience specific to health information management and technology preferred. Knowledge of Career Counseling, Staffing or Recruitment required.
