Serves as a liaison to other City Departments and interacts with other municipal, state and federal agencies to coordinate and ensure successful enforcement efforts. Directs and coordinates mediation and conflict resolution of Code Compliance issues in the community. Reviews and proposes applicable changes to the Municipal Code and fee schedules in relationship to code compliance and records management. Responds to media inquiries regarding Code Compliance programs and enforcement policies and procedures. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Principles, practices and techniques of supervision and training. Principles, practices and methods of code compliance enforcement, mediation and conflict resolution. Principles of records management, retention and destruction. Relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations. Management and leadership principles. Effective customer service techniques. Ability to: Plan, supervise and coordinate the operations and work activities of a section of a division. Develop and implement innovative enforcement projects and programs. Prepare clear and concise written and oral reports and recommendations. Interpret and apply policies and regulations. Design, implement and maintain an effective records management program. Provide effective customer service. Communicate City policies in a courteous and effective manner. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with City employees, private businesses and the general public. Resolve conflicts and effect solutions to problems. Skill in: Leadership, management and supervision techniques. Community relations. Using a personal computer and applicable software applications. Education, Training, Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree in Business or Public Administration or a closely related field. Four years of recent, paid progressively responsible code compliance work experience in a public sector agency. At least two years of the required work experience must include supervisory experience. Licenses and Certification: Possession of a valid Class C driver license.
