Responsibilities: The Air Conditioning Systems and Services business of Ingersoll Rand provides heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems that enhance the quality and comfort of the air in homes and buildings around the world. Its offerings, under the Trane and American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning brands, include energy efficient systems, service and parts support and advanced building controls. Position Summary: Trane Commercial Systems has an immediate need for two (2) strong Import/Export Compliance Specialists to support its business by analyzing financial and harmonized tariff classifications to determine application of Free Trade Agreements (NAFTA, CAFTA, IFTA and others) to reduce/eliminate application of duty to Trane goods. This benefits Trane and/or our customers in reducing landed costs. Areas of Responsibility : Produce, collect, and maintain Free Trade Agreement data (HTS Classification, valuation, country of origin, supplier). Ensure transactions (more than 50K per year) meet trade compliance requirements for completeness, accuracy. Interface frequently with customs brokers, transportation providers, and freight forwarders to ensure consistency with Trane defined import/export processes. Extensive interaction with Trane locations, systems, processes & people U.S. Customs Import Transactions- Assigning HTS Classifications, interfacing with Import brokers, review Import Transactions, elevation as required NAFTA and other FTA work Duty Avoidance and compliance Trane Canada Import Transactions Assigning HTS classifications, interfacing with Import brokers, review import Transactions, elevation as required Export Compliance Export screening, license determination, embargoed country, Government data filing (EEI/SED) HTS Classification - Export and customer requests and classification Business Import/Export Planning Support. Requirements: Bachelors degree in business related field required. Minimum of 7 years of experience in related Trade Compliance and or Legal/Supply Chain required. US Customs Brokers license preferred but not required .
