The objective of this position is to ensure that all products meet or exceed our customers expectations for reliability and the internal goals for reliability and warranty improvement. This will be accomplished through the effective application of contemporary Reliability Engineering methodology. Responsibilities: Manage the Reliability Engineering Department. Build a �Reliability Culture� within the organization by creating an awareness of the benefits of applying Reliability Engineering tools and methods. Provide Reliability Engineering expertise to the division, working closely with Development and Life Cycle Engineering teams to ensure that Design for Reliability methods are incorporated in projects to deliver products with improved reliability. Develop and present professional training seminars on Reliability Engineering theory, practices, processes and software to the division engineering staff emphasizing practical applications. Manage all aspects of product reliability programs, including definition and goal setting; stress and use factor identification; reliability and maintainability design requirements; failure mode prediction and analysis; and reliability testing and analysis requirements. Direct the identification, implementation and validation of meaningful reliability tests and test hardware based on an understanding of the customers applications and supported by measured field data. Lead the global standardization of reliability tests and design processes that ensure that the typical factors that affect the reliability of our systems, products and components are applied in the same manner for different designs. Establish a review and approval process for reliability test plans, reliability test data and a Reliability Reviews prior to product release.. Work closely with the Technical Support and Reliability Department whose responsibilities include warranty and customer issue resolution. Utilize their formal reports to identify and implement proactive product improvements within the NPD process. .
