Responsibilities: As an Automation Engineer, you will be a key player on the team that is responsible for providing automation and control engineering to the terminals. Your support will help to ensure that proactive system and program improvements are designed, initiated and implemented. In addition you can also expect to: Perform PLC programming, P&ID reviews, power distribution design, and the configuration of associated automation equipment; Provide production support and issue troubleshooting for terminal automation systems; Manage automation system and infrastructure projects (define the scope of work, develop estimates and project schedules, develop build packages, track costs, and mitigate risks); Be responsible for the terminal electrical power distribution systems; and Share responsibility for the stewardship of our group's Electrical Safe Work program. Requirements: 2-5 yrs. experience in the automation, instrumentation and control systems arena Electrical Safety, including NEC and NFPA70 exposure, and program support experience Excellent computer system skills - PLC programming, MS Project (or similar) Must be capable of handling several projects and support activities simultaneously Work Experience/Skills Preferred: 5 yrs. experience in the automation, instrumentation, electrical and control systems arena Experience in implementation & support of terminal automation systems Contractor management experience Ability to coordinate projects and complex technical issue resolution efforts Education Required: Electrical Engineering Technology Degree or Equivalent industry work experience Education Preferred: Bachelors of Science - Electrical Engineering or Engineering discipline Other Considerations: Qualified applicants should also possess the following skills and capabilities: Logical/analytical - strong trouble shooting skills and attention to detail Creativity - the ability to find new and/or unique solutions to current problems, challenging the status quo, driving innovation Verbal/Written Communication - ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers and management on complex technical & project implementation issues Interpersonal - must foster teamwork and consensus decision making Compensation/Benefits Competitive wages and benefits packages commensurate with experience. .
