Responsibilities: The position is responsible for reviewing all OOS tools to include all device managers of networking equipment; BHNs current ticketing system, and BHNs main networking monitoring application. Duties will include making all recommendations on configuration, implementation, and support of these tools based on vendor and engineering requirements.  Candidates will work with all vendors of currently deployed tools to ensure that the tools are functioning at their optimal levels. It will also include working with all networking equipment vendors to validate thresholds, traps and alarms are established and implemented within the tools to meet engineering and vendor requirements. Duties will also include working with internal resources to validate and test that all BHN OSS tools are operating as designed. Selected candidate is required to have the following: Understanding of commercial enterprise network management system such as CA Spectrum, IBM Netcool, CA Unicenter, EMC SMARTS, HP Openview, or similar. Understanding of commercial enterprise performance and capacity monitoring system such as Alcatel-Lucent VitalSuite, CA eHealth, SevOne, IBM Proviso, Infovista, or similar. Understanding of a Hybrid Fiber Coax domain network management system such as Auspice OpsLogic, Tollgrade CheetahXD, or similar. Understanding of a network design, asset, and inventory systems such as Visionael, Metasolv, Cramer, Netcracker, BT Netcontrol, Opnet, or similar. Understanding of open source network management systems such as Zenoss, Zabbix, Torrus, Weathermap, MRTG/RRDB, Cricket, Cacti, Nagios, and similar. Knowledge in system integration and automation capability to improve operational response time and accuracy in diagnosing and resolving network issues. .
