Responsibilities: Responsible for the identification and implementation of strategic initiatives for disability claim management, enhancements for the disability product, as well as improved procedures for STD & LTD claim management. Responsible for high-level oversight and management of Disability Claims Team. Ensuring claims are handled efficiently, maintaining good policyholder/client relationships and providing technical expertise on disability claims. Manages staff of 20-40 direct and indirect subordinates. Responsible for coaching, staffing, development and performance management of direct and indirect subordinates. Through the proper management of resources, workflow and segmentation of workload, delivering consistent financial results which meet divisional expectations. Supervisory/Management experience, including proven staff development skills. Effective written and oral communication to both internal and external customers. Proven ability to effect organizational change. Experience in Process redesign efforts Familiarity with SPARC and DCMS Applications Some travel required Experience managing Short Term and Long Term Disability claims.
