Background should include multi-chip module board design including filter and/or matching networks to support integration of RF switch and PA RFICs. Responsibilities include planning, design, simulation, verification and production ramp support of highly integrated, high volume RF Power Amplifier and Front End Module products for the very fast paced and competitive wireless handset market. The candidate must be able to work well as part of a product development team comprised of other design engineers, technicians and layout designers. The candidate will face challenging tasks in order to meet critical performance parameters in the design of these PA and FEM products. For this reason strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum, Sonnet or HFSS are necessary. The candidate also must be knowledgeable in the use of lab test equipment such as a Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, RF Generator, Power Meter and Oscilloscope. The position requires a BSEE/MSEE with significant related experience.Preferred Skills:MSEE Must have a solid understanding of critical RF switch performance parameters such as linearity, harmonics, insertion loss, isolation, stability, leakage, and switching-speed. Hands-on experience integrating RF switches with power amplifiers and antenna switch modules is highly desired. Strong ADS simulation and RF design skills, preferably in PAMs/FEMs. Must be adept at performing non-linear RF simulations using tools such as ADS harmonic balance, or Cadence Spectre. Experience using Momentum, Sonnet, or HFSS is desirable. IC design experience is essential. Design experience within GaAs PHEMT and CMOS is highly desired. IC layout experience including LVS/DRC is desirable. Must understand switch control/biasing techniques, and associated performance tradeoffs. Knowledge of PHEMT fabrication and how this affects the device physics, device model and circuit performance. Candidate may perform verification testing of their designs. A hands-on perspective and understanding of RF test equipment is required.Requirements:BS Degree and 5 years of related experience (RF/Microwave - PA Module and/or switch RFIC specifically) Required Skills: Lotus Notes; Microsoft Office; Design simulation tool; Product Realization Process (taking design to final production); Knowledge of Design Architecture; Knowledge of test parameters and test equipment; and Device or Product Characterization Knowledge.Desirable qualities: Inquisitiveness and eagerness to understand how performance is being driven by the design - both electrically and physically. Strong leadership skills, willing to demand action, feedback, accountability and results Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to influence and motivate others. Candidate must have good organization skills and an ability to work productively both independently and in a team environment. Methodical logical troubleshooting skills High degree of spatial intelligence | |||||
