Responsibilities: Education: Bachelors degree in engineering or construction or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and related experience. Masters degree in business, engineering, or construction management desirable. Average Experience: Entrants to this position generally possess extensive experience in the Engineering or Construction Industry with 10 years in estimating. Typically possess 5 years of experience on a project performing work outside the estimating function. Has a strong understanding of planning and scheduling and the Washington Division cost structure (overheads, G&A, insurances). Demonstrated superior technical ability in the areas of specialty and possession of expert knowledge in those areas. Must be a US Citizen Preferance is an active TS/SCIJob Description :Global Security Group is actively looking for a Consulting Estimator to join their growing team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The Consulting Estimator is responsible for activities related to estimating all the elements of project cost including labor (manual and nonmanual), materials and permanent equipment, supplies, consumables and expenses, and construction equipment rental and operating costs, contingency, escalation, program risk, etc. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Individual incumbents may be responsible for crossdiscipline application or may concentrate in one or more of the Estimating disciplines including Electrical, Architectural/Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Systems Control, Estimating cornerstone application analysis, etc. Prepares or assists in the preparation of Order of Magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques. Prepares equipment and material takeoff. Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for costing estimates. Prepares or assists in the preparation of project and discipline estimate summaries. Prepares or assists in the preparation of the Basis of Estimate. Participates in estimate reviews. Establishes and maintains cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools.
