This opportunity is for a Manager of Patient Care Services - Main Operating Room. This position reports to the Director of Perioperative Services and is responsible for the management of the hospital main operating room operation which consists of 18 main OR suites and eighteen PACU bays. In 2008, this facility performed 12,000 inpatient procedures and a slightly smaller number of outpatient procedures. This is a fast-paced, high volume facility with the bulk of procedures being in neuro, ortho, cardiac, cardiac vascular. No transplants. The Manager will have approximately 88 direct reports made up of a committed, veteran staff. The manager joins a veteran Director who needs a dynamic, innovative manager who has experienced a challenging OR environments to re-enthuse this competent staff and establish new, innovative, high productivity policies and procedures. This role has an excellent chance of leading to Director of Perioperative Services. The current Director is committed to mentoring someone into her role.The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications and background: - Bachelor-degreed RN minimum- MSN preferred. - 3-5 years of OR management in acute-care hospital setting with minimum of 10-12 OR suites. - Experience in scheduling in an environment of fluctuating census - Experience in elevating morale and establishing departmental stability - Confident - A mentor/people-growerThe community is a nature lovers paradise and a monument to the Old West.
