Responsibilities: Senior Corporate Counsel, Digital MediaThe candidate will join the Media, Digital and New Technologies group focusing on digital books matters. Will work closely with business team members, oversee compliance efforts, serve as lead counsel on strategic deals for the company's growing digital businesses, and provide legal advice and guidance in connection with those businesses. Principal duties include handling of copyright related issues, developing and overseeing compliance programs, structuring, drafting and negotiation of licensing and commercial agreements, and provision of ongoing legal counseling in the areas of intellectual property, website operations, consumer law, technology, digital media, and regulatory compliance.The candidate should have 7+ years of legal experience as a transactional or compliance attorney, preferably with some portion of that experience in copyright matters. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required. 3+ years of experience in a top national or international law firm is required. In-house experience is a plus. Strong project management skills and top analytical skills are a must, as are strong drafting and negotiating experience required. Strong academic credentials including a J.D. degree from a top law school and membership in one state bar is required.
