Responsibilities: Manages two institution-wide centralized services: 1)Document Delivery to provide Center staff with information resources not available in the library collection and 2) Scholarly Publishing service to support Center authors compliance with the NIH Public Access mandate. Provides additional library and information support responsibilities as needed.RequirementsHigh school diploma; 4-year college degree preferred. Library experience and use of basic library tools. Health sciences, academic or medical library experience preferred. Strong computer & data entry skills required. Knowledge of: library functions and resources, copyright laws, NIH Public Access mandate, and medical terminology. Familiarity with: interlibrary loan directories and procedures; facility in the use of the OCLC and DOCLINE; updating QuickDoc, DOCLINE and OCLC databases; use of electronic and printed medical and scientific bibliographies such as PubMed; OVID, MEDLINE, and other online systems for the purposes of verification and ordering of documents; using and maintaining the Ariel ILL system; various publishers ILL restrictions; and dealing with online copyright clearance reporting. Must be detail-oriented; possess good communication and good judgement skills and have strong service orientation along with ability to prioritize projects and work independently.
