We seek a Senior Generator Technician who will play a key role installing and supporting equipment as part of a large high-tech development project and contract with a major client. The initial phase of the contract is for three years and could lead to a much larger commitment from both parties.
To qualify for this excellent career opportunity, you will need:
• A minimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience with gas and diesel driven power generation systems including installation, start up, service and repair.
• Switchgear experience is a big plus.
• A thorough understanding of the mechanical and electrical theories & concepts involved in the power generating process.
• Good conversational skills and the ability to speak with customers.
• Tools as required to accomplish the job.
• A professional, dependable, customer service oriented personality.
• A track record of success in a variety of installation and trouble shooting situations.
The basic responsibilities of this position are to:
• Serve as the onsite, primary support technician for high tech power generation equipment produced to engineering specifications in an “evolving”, testing type of environment.
• Install, test, service, and maintain power gen equipment that is an essential component of a much larger system.
• Understand and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications, detailed verbal instructions, and handbooks.
• Work closely with your company’s engineering staff and the customer’s engineering staff on a variety of technical matters and coordinate their instructions & recommendations.
• Investigate operating difficulties, isolate problems, make repairs, and maintain detailed documentation.
• Work closely and cooperate with technicians from other companies in order to insure that the power generation equipment under your care meets stringent specs, interfaces properly with equipment from other companies, and that your employers best interests are served at all times.
