DESCRIPTION: (Junior with 3 - 5 years experience - CAD & Solidworks a plus)
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical systems and products to interface with chassis hybrid components and hydraulically operated devices
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Complete Bill of Materials & Routings utilizing ERP System;
• Reading design specifications and technical drawings;
• Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales;
• Designing and conducting tests;
• Qualifying the final product or system;
• Monitoring a product in use so as to improve on future design;
• Offering design improvements, processes, techniques, fixtures, and manufacturing aids to increase productivity, safety and quality;
• Working closely with production supervisors, quality control, support engineering, inside sales and customer response team, service and customer;
• Executing changes (internal & external) through the identified change order process;
• Reading and analyzing data such as customer specifications and manuals to determine feasibility and safety of design or application in order to create new designs or modify existing designs;
• Following the specified design procedure, design review procedure & as built correction procedure to minimize the amount of time to process customer orders;
• Operate file management software for the storage and retrieval of design, job record and cost information;
• Work with vendors to specify materials, wire harnesses, lights, switches, valves etc. to insure a high quality product and ease of manufacture while minimizing the cost of material;
REQUIREMENTS:
• B.S. Engineering Degree; Electrical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering (with electrical experience); Electrical Engineering Technology;
• Proven track record with 4-7 years of related experience; mechatronics experience preferred
• Engineering process knowledge and experience (e.g. Bill of Material systems, Drawing and document management);
• Knowledge of Manufacturing processes (e.g. welding, fabrication, laser cutting, hydraulics etc);
• Diagnostic & trouble shooting ability;
• Operate Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel and Word; Autocad Software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, E3, etc.);
• Knowledge hybrid systems (electronics, power electronics, motor/generator, etc)
