POSITION TITLE: Sr Systems / Software Engineer

INDUSTRY: Manufacturing – On Road or Off Road Vehicles

LOCATION: SE Wisconsin

DESCRIPTION:
This is a newly created position to develop hybrid electric vehicle applications for hydraulic lifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
• Assist with the testing of the product and verification of performance;
• Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs;
• Searching for new applications of Hybrid technology and evaluate the business need;
• Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, value and performance;
• Work closely with the suppliers for product development and assessing their capabilities;
• Reading design specifications and technical drawings;
• Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales;
• Designing and conducting tests;
• Recording, analyzing and interpreting test data;
• Proposing product modifications and retesting products;
• Qualifying the final product or system;
• Preparing product documentation and writing reports;
• Monitoring a product in use so as to improve on future design;
• Offering design improvement techniques, fixtures, and manufacturing aids to increase productivity, safety and quality;
• Working closely with production supervisors, quality control, support engineering, inside sales and customer response team regarding manufacturing and product improvements;


REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree in Engineering preferred
• 7-10 years of proven, related experience included some vehicle experience in the Automotive or Heavy Truck Industry; ; mechatronics experience preferred
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems;
• Sound judgment, resilience, tenacity and good business sense;
• Analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Independent self-starter; detail-orientated; attention to quality
• Ability to work with flexible and changing schedules;
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills especially the ability to communicate with employees and customers as well as work effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
• Operate Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Project;
• System/Software Engineering process knowledge and experience (e.g. System Spec, SIL, FMEA, PV & DV, 8D, V&V and document management);
• Ability to work with flexible and changing schedules. Planning and organizational skills, such as time and resource allocation;
• Ability to communicate with employees, various business contacts and work within a multidisciplinary team;
• Experience with Software tools and language (Matlab/Simulink, MotoTron, C++, dSpace, ETAS, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, E3etc.);
