Responsibilities: Learn and perform the installation, changing of services and disconnects at the homes of existing cable television, digital phone and internet service subscribers. Performs pay television installs/upgrades/downgrades and assures proper cable services to the customer. Performs installations/disconnections of cable, Internet service and pay television service as requested by the customer or due to non-payment of the subscriber. May also be asked to collect overdue or bulk payments before disconnection. Reviews customers' work order requests to ensure proper services requested are completed. Also assures that television reception is good and that television sets are properly tuned. Is responsible for ensuring that company vehicle is well stocked with the necessary materials and the proper tools and that the vehicle is properly maintained. Responsible to communicate status of assigned or dispatched work to dispatcher throughout the day. Completes and signs all assigned work orders and responsible for the submission of paperwork associated with gas logs, leakage logs, warehouse/ equipment requests, customer equipment or any other required documentation. Maintains good customer relations image. Is able to perform duties and responsibilities with a minimum of supervision. Observes all safety training guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Previous experience is not required, although a good prior work record is desirable. Basic electronics and electricity courses are desirable but not required. Experience in electronics, communications and/or public/customer relations is desirable. A basic mechanical aptitude is helpful. The ability to climb poles and/or towers, to work outdoors year-round and to follow instructions is required. .
