Responsibilities: The Designer/Drafter position reports to the Production Engineering Manager. As a member of Production Engineering this position provides mechanical and electro-mechanical design, drafting and documentation cross-functional support to Production Engineering, Custom Transducers and Documentation Control. This position requires creativity, resourcefulness, attention to detail and compliance to documentation control procedures. It is responsible for the creation and editing of Olympus NDT drawings and documents as required and in support of Engineering Change Notices (ECN's). Job Responsibilities/Activities. Work with Production Engineering in the design and documentation of production fixtures and tooling. Work with Production Engineering and Documentation Control to verify proposed changes, update documentation and implement ECN's. Work with Custom Applications to design/draft parts and assembly documentation from sketches, existing drawings and electronic image files. Design parts based on written and verbal communications. Calculate tolerance stack ups and account for machining and other manufacturing process considerations where applicable and validate design. Requirements. High proficiency with AutoCAD. Strong understanding of materials and parts' manufacturing processes. Computer literate with good communication skills. .
