Responsibilities: Performs highly responsible supervisory and management duties as the head of the North Texas Field Office of the Examinations Division. This position assists the Chief Examiner in the administration and supervision of examinations of approximately 500 regulated entities licensed in the State of Texas to determine their financial condition and compliance with statutory requirements. Providing advice and technical expertise to approximately fifteen field examiners. Conferring with industry representatives concerning contested matters, procedures, or viability of presented proposals. Work is prepared under limited supervision of the Chief Examiner. Duties include: assisting the Chief Examiner relative to scheduling the examinations of insurance related e ntities; representing the Chief Examiner in meetings and committees involving assigned financial examinations; resolving contested issues in financial examination reports with company management; providing instructions and advice to professional staff relative to proper performance of routine and complex processes and issues; responding to technical questions from examiners regarding examinations of insurance entities; supervising and conducting training sessions with field examiners; reviewing and analyzing examinations reports and making recommendations to upper management and to other sections of the for appropriate actions to be taken concerning discrepancies or non-compliance with statutes and rules; transmittal of examination reports to insurance related entities; promulgating and implementing procedures, rules legislation, goals and strategies; assisting in the oversight control of data bases(s) and quality control of records maintenance pursuant to the agencys records retention schedule; recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, evaluating, establishing objectives and counseling financial examiners and other employees as well as conducting all personnel transactions pursuant to agency EEO policies; may appear as an expert witness and accountant in court proceedings and in administrative hearings; participating in exit interviews with company officials and other conferences as appropriate; conducting site visits to examinations to ensure compliance with TDI standards; manage and oversee the South Texas Field Office, physical location and all amenities; assisting with special projects; and performs other duties as assigned. Unless specifically and expressly stated otherwise, regular attendance is an essential function of every TDI job. This position requires travel in order to carry out the essential functions of the job.
