Position Overview
The Sales Engineer is responsible for exercising effective leadership and operational effectiveness in working with Regional Sales Managers (RSM) to provide product sales support to successfully close business. The Sales Engineer is responsible for researching and understanding the needs of the customer and defining the overall technical solution. This person provides the technical support within an account to deliver compelling demonstrations and presentations. The Sales Engineer leads and performs most of the tasks in preparing and building custom digital signs.
Responsibilities and duties
• Gain a full understanding of all company interactive products, their features, functions, and possible benefits.
• Conceptualize and communicate on how products and services positively impact and provide benefit to prospect organizations.
• Coordinate and performs prospects needs assessment and solution discovery activities.
• Actively contribute to account strategy definition and review.
• In addition to standard demonstrations of solutions, design and deliver client specific solution demonstrations based on the requirements and the competitive sales situation.
• Responsible for creation and management of product/technical parts of responses to RFI and RFP requests.
• Perform job using recommended department processes and best practices.
• Request and coordinate creative and other resources needed to support the sales engagement.
• Participate at tradeshows, conferences and other events.
• Become an industry expert for companies targeted markets, understanding key business drivers, business processes, industry issues, directions and events.
• Provide education and training to peers, sales and presales staff and others
• Contribute to the development of department infrastructure, re-usable tool and processes
Education and Experience Required
• Four-year college degree with a major in Engineering, Math, Business, or Computer Science.
• Five years of pre and post sales experiences solving problems and creating solutions in a revenue generating capacity
• Three years experiences as a sales engineer for a software-based solutions in a revenue generating capacity
