Computer/Network Technician

This 32 hour a week position has prorated benefits including health insurance, vacation, holidays and pension. Will normally work 4 eight hour shifts a week. The pay scale is $15.11 to $20.41 an hour.
Under the direction of the City of Columbus Finance Director, this individual assists with the installation and maintenance of all City personal computer hardware and software as well as programming, Will also work with the small main frame computer and the internet.
Examples of duties includes: Upgrades and assists in configuring the City email server. Maintains City email accounts and maintains shared calendar accounts. Monitors back up processes of network servers and performs regular server maintenance. Installs, configures and supports various client/server software. Assists in data conversions and numerous special projects.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Education and/or experience with personal computers, software, networking, internet, small main frame computers and programming. Valid Nebraska driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with directors, supervisors, employees, city officials, vendors, other governmental officials and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and to make formal presentations. Ability to maintain regular attendance on the job.
