Food Compliance Officer I - (US-NC-Raleigh - 27699) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities and Requirements: Duties involve evaluating inspection reports submitted by foodregulatory specialists; identifying any violations of current laws andregulations; reviewing product labels for compliance; recommending tothe supervisor appropriate regulatory response; drafting correspondenceto industry detailing inspection violations; responding to phoneinquiries regarding proposed business operations and consumercomplaints; responding to general inquires from public, media, andregulated industry regarding food safety, programs and regulations, aswell as inquiries from local, state and federal agencies regardingprograms and inspection jurisdiction; assigning laboratory samples,tracking progress of analysis, drawing conclusions from results ofanalysis and, in a timely manner, accurately reporting results toimpacted parties. Compliance officer, will lead state and nationwiderecalls if product adulteration or misbranding is detected; participatein educational/outreach programs and represent the department anddivision at industry meetings to disseminate information regarding thedepartment and division programs.sap# 60011961knowledge, skills and abilitiescomprehensive knowledge of nc laws and division regulations dealingwith manufacture of foods in regulated industry; knowledge ofinspection procedures, policies, and general food processingtechniques; knowledge of county, state and federal laws and regulationswith consumer protection, health and safety issues; general knowledgeof analytical techniques and principles to assist in the assignment ofsamples; general knowledge of legal proceedings; strong organizationalskills and ability to manage several concurrent tasks; excellentcommunication skills (oral & written) are required to obtain anddisseminate information; ability to accurately analyze situations inorder to take the appropriate regulatory response; ability to establishand maintain effective working relationships with other regulatoryagencies (local, county, state, and federal) industry representativesand the general public; ability to communicate with laboratory andfield staff in order to coordinate work and regulatory response.training and experience requirementsgraduation from a four-year college or university with a degree inchemistry, microbiology, or food science and one year of experience infood and dairy compliance work; or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.prefer either bench chemist, food regulatory specialist orfood quality assurance experience.
