The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst coordinates and prepares quarterly and year-end reporting required by the SEC. This person also assists with internal financial reports that are presented to senior management. Specifically, the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst: Coordinates the consolidation of financial data and preparation of SEC required quarterly and annual reports and filings. Interfaces with Legal and other internal departments to compile financial statement information, verify the data and understand the results. Analyzes causes of significant changes in financial results. Coordinates with Investor Relations department to prepare explanations and footnotes in the 10K and 10Q. Generates reports from various financial systems to gather data for required reporting. Prepares quarterly financial schedules included in the earnings release. Researches and assists in the implementation of guidelines required by the SEC, FASB and other accounting standards boards as they relate to the Company. Prepares the monthly internal financial reports (i.e. Controller's Report) and financial reports presented in Board meetings as necessary. Prepares statutory filing requirements as needed; reports required by insurance industry regulatory bodies and/or associations. Interfaces with insurance association and regulatory agencies to submit required reports and filings. Ensures consistency, timeliness and accuracy of information reported. Coordinates with and supplies information to internal and external auditors involving review of financial statements and accounting procedures, policies and documentation. Ensures Company is in compliance.Requirements: 3 years experience in public accounting preferably with a Big 4 firm CPA certification requirements met. Bachelor degree in accounting, or similar business degree. Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations as well as general accounting practices and reporting requirements. Strong analytical skills, attention to details and excellent problem solving ability. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt well to changes in schedules and work under pressure.
