Content expert/advisor for other project managers. Oversees management of all aspects of one or more large scale, multi-center projects. Large project usually is multi-year, with a budget in excess of 200k annually and hundreds of participants at multiple sites, or involve highly complex data collection on a smaller number of participants. Works independently with general supervision by higher level Research Scientists.Requirements: S:Extensive (usually 8 years) experience in one or more of the technical areas required. Prior experience as a Project Manager on at least four major projects. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage other professionals others through influence and collaboration. Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analysis. Demonstrated ability to determine key business and financial issues and develop appropriate action from a multidisciplinary perspective. Proven leadership skills in project management and consulting. Must demonstrate an understanding of the operations and/or business of and health policy trends. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.PREFERRED Requirements: S:Background in infectious disease, public health or minority health research preferable. Experience working directly with diverse types of patients as recruiter or interviewer also a plus.DUTIES:Designs, develops and directs well-defined research. Recognized expert in complex analytic problem solving, project and client management. Defines scope of work, deliverables and timeframes directly with senior staff/project managers.May supervise Research Project Managers. Establishes team membership and negotiates time commitments and resources. Provides staff leadership, direction and mentoring to multidisciplinary project teams. Prepares grant proposals, external and internal progress reports and publications independently and collaboratively. Provides budget expertise, and prepares, manages and evaluates budgets. Supervises day-to-day operations of projects. Develops, interprets and implements standards, procedures, policies and protocols for research programs. May collaborate on determining strategic direction of research program. May serve on professional committees at local, state and national agencies. May make formal presentations to senior level audiences. May serve as researcher and consultant on multiple projects.
