Responsibilities: The Public Health Team Leader is responsible for prescribing, implementing and evaluating the nursing care delivered on the shift and for creating and maintaining an environment that is resident centered, culturally sensitive and team oriented in order that the Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility patients may achieve their full potential and successfully return to their former level of functioning. Essential functions include: provides direct care to patients; makes shift assignments for team staff; coordinates clients schedule needs with the unit program staff; promotes and protects the dignity and rights of patients; communicates effectively with others and promotes teamwork; participates in orientation of staff; collaborates with clinical coordinator to ensure health and safety, infection control, clinical and rehabilitation standards of care; responsible for quality clinical care on assigned shift; manages and fosters professional development of nursing staff on assigned shift; collaborates with interdisciplinary staff; evaluates nursing care; and adheres to Mental Health Rehabilitation/San Francisco General Hospital/Department of Mental Services policies.  The Public Health Team Leader performs related duties as required.  Requirements: S:1a.  Two years experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician OR1b.  Two years experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse providing psychiatric nursing care in a skilled nursing facility or psychiatric acute care setting or a related mental health setting.  HOW TO APPLY:Applications will be accepted from October 23 - 30, 2009.  Applications for City and County of San Francisco jobs are being accepted through an online process only..
