TYPE: Onsite contract
DURATION: 6 to 9 months, extendable
NOTE: For this job, we need to see demonstrable legacy BIOS development experience in your resume.
PAY RANGE (W2): Open; applicants are requested to quote rates competitively. 1099 or Corp2Corp not allowed for this project
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidate will be responsible for design and development of BIOS using a range of applicable technologies (e.g., programming languages, compilers, assemblers, debuggers, ITPs, scopes, logic analyzers, and other tools) and state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies.
Primary job responsibilities shall also include the design, development, debugging, and testing of BIOS software for complex systems.
He/she will work closely with a team of software engineers to deliver a high quality BIOS for use in Client's product line.
He/she will participate in product development in all stages from planning and design to development and testing.
KEY QUALIFYING SKILLS:
Must have good knowledge of PC architecture along with strong C programming skills (8 or more years)
Legacy BIOS development experience
Processor architecture, Chipset programming
Industry standards that affect BIOS and busses common to PCs.
Should be proficient in using common software and hardware debugging tools.
Must must have good software design skills and should be able to produce documentation related to software design at both a high and low level.
DESIRABLE:
OOP experience (C++, Java etc) will be an edge
Familiarity with UEFI
Project management experience
SOFT SKILLS:
Good candidates should be proactive in managing work including meeting schedules, identifying risks, and delivering high quality software.
Candidates should enjoy working in a fast moving, team oriented environment
EDUCATION:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Comp Sc/Engg, EE, Electronics, DSP or equivalent combination of certifications and relevant work experience
