Inland Marine Territory Manager - (US-TN-Nashville - 37250) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Jobcode: N/A Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities: Develop, coordinate, and underwrite commercial inland marine business, through direct contact with select agencies, to meet assigned objectives. Manage book of business to represent target inland marine classes. In addition to the current Harleysville agency plant, develop key inland marine producers and leverage existing Surety producers for profitable growth opportunities Represent Harleysville and function as primary relationship manager with assigned agencies for the commercial / inland marine line of business. Contact with agents and reinsurers. Contact with various field and home office personnel at all levels. 1. Achieve profitability and production objectives as well as service standards. 2. Quote, price and underwrite new and renewal policies and endorsements, primarily for more complex or service sensitive accounts. Monitor risk selection and pricing decisions for entire agency plant, both on a book of business and individual account level basis. 3. Develop commercial inland marine business plan for local operation in accordance with company marketing and underwriting objectives. Provide guidance and assistance to agencies in meeting their volume and profitability commitments. Seek out and refer to appropriate segments Life, Personal Lines, Flood, and other product sale opportunities for our agencies and Harleysville. 4. Review agency reports such as premium production, policy counts and loss ratio for the purpose of developing any corrective action plans for those agencies not conforming to company underwriting philosophies and standards. 5. Complete regular agency visits to develop new accounts, service existing accounts, review agency performance, and enhance agency relations. 6. Participate in and conduct sales/training sessions and orientation/implementation of new products/programs for agencies. 7. Assist agency with sales strategies to develop new business, improve retention, and maintain profitability. 8. Coordinate the review and evaluation of rollover books of business for acceptability. 9. Conduct periodic agency reviews and coordinates with Marketing department, PLU and other disciplines. 10. Monitor market conditions, develop competitive intelligence, and make recommendations regarding new and/or existing products/programs. 11. Assure underwriting and service support is meeting needs of assigned agencies. 12. Monitor and direct commercial inland marine associate underwriter in their essential duties and responsibilities. Compile self-audits relative to work completed by CIM associate underwriter. Coordinate and provide input in the areas of performance management, training needs, development, coaching and other human resource related issues for CIM associate underwriter. Qualifications Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible underwriting and marketing experience with heavy emphasis to inland marine business. Expertise in markets consistent with our underwriting efforts or particular, complex product offerings. Requirements: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent, AAI or CIC, AU, CPCU In-depth working knowledge of Commercial Inland Marine underwriting, pricing and coverage for small and middle market business. Knowledge of company marketing/underwriting standards and philosophies. .
