Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director, Technical Services, the Product Engineer designs and develops wire and cable products for industrial and specialty applications. Key responsibilities include: designing and developing wire and cable products, responding to customer requests to design or enhance product offerings,  managing product development projects, providing technical engineering support and training to sales, product teams, customers and end users, working with manufacturing to conduct trials and improve manufacturability, undertaking material cost reduction projects, providing application assistance to field sales relative to cable installations prior, during and or after installation, preparing technical specifications on products and product components, providing manufacturing technical updates to field sales and troubleshooting any field quality issues. We require a self-starter with the ability to multi-task with excellent project management skills, good problem solving abilities, accuracy, attention to detail, comprehensive knowledge of design and application of cable products, solid computer skills (Windows NT, MS Word, Excel, Access), the ability to meet aggressive targets and translate technical data into non-technical terms.  Team leadership skills are a plus. This position will split duties between our Highland Heights, KY offices and Marion, Indiana location.  There will be heavy travel between the two locations. Job Requirements Bachelors degree in a technical field preferably in electrical engineering 5 years of product engineering experience Knowledge of wire and cable manufacturing and design Familiarity with six sigma and solid understanding of cost/benefit analysis including volume requirements for profitability of product designs..
