Purchasing Assistant - (US-NY-Syracuse - 13290) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Jobcode: N/A Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities: The Purchasing Assistant generally performs tasks that include, but are not limited to, the following: Enters purchase orders (Field Purchase Orders or Purchase Order Requisition for Projects) for material, rental and equipment purchases (exception being Capital Equipment, which is entered by the Fleet/Equipment Administrator) into the Oracle Accounting System. Receives invoices to assigned purchase orders to be processed by Accounts Payable. Maintains files for all project-related purchase orders. Coordinates new credit application for new vendors with legal department review of terms and conditions. Enters new vendor set up into Oracle Accounting System, which includes W-9 information provided by new vendor. At the direction of Project Controls Group and/or Project Accounting, Purchasing Assistant reviews and closes purchase order commitments when projects are to close. Provides backup assistance for subcontracts, change orders, processing of invoices and conditional waivers for payments to subcontractors. Adheres to policies and standards set forth in the companys Quality Management System Manual. Making calls to Vendors when necessary. Requirements: High School Diploma with relevant experience in Purchasing, Accounting or Finance Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with Oracle or other purchasing software preferred but not required. Able to work in a repetitive environment Able to multi-task and prioritize Good organization skills..
