Lean Systems Design Expert - (US-SC-York - 29745) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities and Requirements: The Lean Systems Design Expert will be a resource of lean expertise for CVS manufacturing sites and will lead the manufacturing change process through design and implementation of Lean through using cross-functional teamsThis position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (preferably mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering).Advance degree desirable (not required) with at least five years project experience.Lean Manufacturing experience a must.Six Sigma Green- or Black-Belt certification a bonus.Coordinates plant planning, scheduling, and execution of Lean initiatives throughout the CVS plant networkAchieves operational results within 18-month transformation process, and subsequent continuous improvementPrimary builder of capabilities and trainer of all lean tools in Toyota Production System during plant transformation efforts (e.g., material flow, pull systems, line balance, etc); builds capabilities using both written materials and experientiallyProficient at implementing all tools of Toyota Production SystemEvaluates core team member performance (i.e., site CI personnel) in matrix environmentLeads cross-functional teams through transformation and continuous improvement in wide range of manufacturing environments, including assembly, machining, foundry, etcInteracts with different functions of an operation (e.g., purchasing, product development, etc)Evaluates current-state plant layouts and develops future state designs using the principles of Lean manufacturingIdeal General Lean candidate profileUnderstands and has implemented all elements of the Toyota Production System in world class Lean environmentsSignificant leadership and team-building experienceUnderstands and embraces broader business context and multiple objectives of program; training, skill transfer, lean tool, and financial emphasisDemonstrated ability to both plan, execute and steer process changePerformance attributes:self-starter; positive, but demanding; decisive; collaborative; inscrutable integrity; strong work ethicDirect line management experience (3-5 years)Project management experience:coordinate multiple activities; manage core CI teams at manufacturing sites; influence senior managementHolistic, big picture thinking (e.g., value stream approach to lean implementation)Lean transformation experience.
