Compressor Design Engineer - (Un-LA-Shreveport - 71166) Minimum Education: Bachelors Jobcode: 257341 Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Senior Product Development EngineerMust be willing to relocate within the SouthThe main objective of the Product Development Engineer position is to design and develop new compressor models or modifications to current models.The ideal candidate would have skills relating to planning, designing, testing, and implementing design changes into production for types of compressors or other machinery/ appliances.Critical Tasks/ResponsibilitiesDesign/ development of new compressor models or modifications to current models, taking into account cost, strength, manufacturing, efficiency, sound, and reliability requirements.Experience with thermal systems Instrumentation for testing, both common (T/Cs, basic pressure transducers) and more involved (prox sensors, accelerometers, high speed pressure measurement, strain gages)Common drawing tolerancing including GD&TPerforming competitive analysis of other compressors to understand advantages or costs of other designs.Developing prototypes and testing of concepts for feasibility and evaluations of costs prior to longer term projects ultimately leading to implementation.Machining operations such as turning or milling as well as other typical manufacturing and fabrication operations such as casting & stamping of parts.Working with manufacturing, quality, and other parts of the organization to address implementation issues, leading projects to successful implementation in the factory.Basic Minimum QualificationsMinimum degree requirement is BSME or MET, with MSME preferredWork experience should be at least a minimum of 3 years. Also, if the candidate has less than 5 years of experience, GPA should be greater than 3.0/4.0.Excellent oral and written communicationsAble to identify, analyze, and solve problemsPractical and creativeAble to work independentlyAble to work as part of a teamWilling to adhere to safety requirementsWork experience should include: product engineering development to solve reliability, performance, sound, and manufacturing related issues in compressors or other types of machinery/appliancesAll candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. | |||||
