Responsibilities: Serving as liaison with external and governmental agencies; 5) Coordinating with and monitoring operations and maintenance personnel to ensure site compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, wildlife management, rules and regulations, etc; 6) Conducting inspections or assessments and providing advice or recommendations regarding compliance issues to management; 7) Analyzing and evaluating data and preparing management reports; 8) Keeping management apprised of site environmental compliance or safety records; 9) Serving as primary site coordinator with internal department and external agencies regarding environmental, safety or chemical management issues at the work locations; 10) Serving as contact with community or local public to resolve complaints or problems; 11) Procuring services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental/safety programs; 12) Coordinating hazardous waste disposal and providing training to site personnel in the handling of chemicals, waste materials or other procedural requirements; 13) Evaluating new regulations and coordinating compliance plans. This is not a desk-based position. The successful candidate is hands-on and will walk the plant in all conditions. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requires minimum of four years of professional Environmental experience. Prefer candidates who have one or more of the following qualifications: 1) Knowledge of and experience with operating and maintaining precipitators; 2) Knowledge of and experience with continuous emissions monitoring; 3) Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations (candidate will be responsible for obtaining permits and submitting reports to federal, state and environmental agencies). Requirements: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Scientific Field, or Engineering. Working Conditions Position requires ability to climb ladders and stairs, to enter confined spaces, and to work on open grating surfaces that are at significant heights. 76% - 100% - Office Work Environment; Up To 25% - Dust / Grease / Oil;Energized Wires;Fumes;Loud Noise;Operating Machinery; Other Conditions: Exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
