Responsible for interpreting reports for FCHP staff and customers. Responsibilities Takes responsibility at the program and project management level e.g. Medicaid product reporting, for the planning and development of comprehensive health care information analyses in an accurate and timely fashion for internal and external customers on utilization trends, diagnoses, financial performance, quality, etc. As necessary, applies programming, spreadsheet, and graphic skills to develop production and ad hoc reports using very large data sets. Develops business specifications for reports. Reviews all reports and output for internal consistency and external reasonableness. Plans scope, timeline and methodology of projects and studies with feedback to requestor in a timely fashion. Strong ability to conceptualize analytical models and report formats in response to business problems, including the application of statistical concepts and case mix adjustment. Gains in-depth knowledge of the content and the strengths and weaknesses of FCHP products, claims and eligibility databases and the use of such databases to develop and interpret health care utilization and cost reports. Uses query tools to access data. Must be able to review logic, criteria, and definitions to incorporate into data models to extract functional data set for reporting. Works to improve data quality and collection processes and report design to meet diverse and changing needs for reporting. Develops alternative techniques for gathering a variety of data that is not available from established sources. Constantly works to identify opportunities for improvement in work processes and reports. Leads or assists in a variety of special projects as requested. Participates on committees and task forces related to reporting and data quality and where data support is required. Applies leadership based on a comprehensive knowledge of FCHP reporting capabilities. Presentations are timely, concise and customer focused. Ability to work in a team environment; establishes and maintains positive, collaborative relationships with all customers. Consults with requestors of reports so as to actively engage requestors in defining their requests and to minimize rework. Works collaboratively with peers and assists with areas of expertise. Provides assistance on technical matters and acts as a significant information resource. Strictly observes FCHPs policies regarding confidentiality of member information. .
