Responsibilities and Requirements: Volunteer Church-State Litigation FellowshipThe Volunteer Fellow will receive substantial experience and training in all aspects of trial and appellate litigation. Fellowship attorneys conduct research, draft pleadings and discovery, and write briefs; they screen incoming complaints and assist with identifying new cases; and they conduct non-litigation advocacy in an effort to resolve claims without resorting to litigation. Will perform any particular task, past fellowship attorneys have prepared briefs in cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and federal and state appellate courts across the country and have presented oral arguments, questioned witnesses, and introduced evidence at the trial-court level.Deferred law-firm associates will be considered for a one-year Volunteer Fellowship with the organization beginning in the Fall of 2010.Deadline: January 15, 2010.
