The position requires making sales calls to elementary, middle schools and high schools, district offices and state department personnel in an assigned geographic territory as well as working conferences in said territory. : Make daily sales calls to schools and school district offices and develop and foster professional relationships with key customers in assigned territory in order to close business. When appropriate, conduct formal sales presentations. Effectively plan and execute a strategic territorial sales plan. Target key accounts based on revenue potential, develop sales campaigns and execute effective follow up strategies. Effectively track and quantify sales opportunities and prospects and prepare a monthly forecast of all large orders. Complete a written monthly report summarizing territory activity and issues. Provide customer on-site support as needed. When appropriate, lead and conduct follow-up in-service training. Exhibit products/materials at all appropriate educational conferences. Learn and demonstrate a complete understanding of all major products. Manage an assigned expense budget. Complete expense reports on a weekly basis.Requirements: A minimum of a BA/BS in Education or equivalent related work experience is required Sales experience utilizing a consultative sales approach. Ability to develop a strategic sales plan and strong listening skills are essential. The ability to match a customer's needs to Saxon products. Ability to develop relationships with key educational personnel in each district and school as well as the state department. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
