Responsibilities and Requirements: This machine operator will:Set up, operate, maintain and clean a broad range of complex equipment and processes to safely achieve the highest throughput, yield, and quality.  Apply lean manufacturing tools and concepts to drive continuous improvement efforts (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Lean concepts).Understand basic business concepts and metrics relating to manufacturing process, such as inventory control, DOT, quality, yields, etc., and apply knowledge to improve process. Utilize quality system to review, write and initiate change to work instructions, generate non-conformance reports and initiate corrective actions.Understand the basic concepts of SPC (statistical process control), review process control charts and determine if action is required.Partner with engineers/R&D associates to help create new processes and products. Adapt to changing priorities quickly to match the business needs.  Apply knowledge of physical, chemical, and ergonomic hazards to plant processes to ensure safe working environment.  Deliver and receive objective feedback. , one of Fortune Magazine's '100 Best Companies to Work For in America', is seeking a machine operator to join our second shift (2:00pm -10:00pm) chemical processing team at one of our Elkton, MD facilities.  This machine operator will:Set up, operate, maintain and clean a broad range of complex equipment and processes to safely achieve the highest throughput, yield, and quality.  Apply lean manufacturing tools and concepts to drive continuous improvement efforts (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Lean concepts).Understand basic business concepts and metrics relating to manufacturing process, such as inventory control, DOT, quality, yields, etc., and apply knowledge to improve process. Utilize quality system to review, write and initiate change to work instructions, generate non-conformance reports and initiate corrective actions.
