Responsibilities: Duties and Creates layouts and spreads for college magazines, viewbooks, catalogs, and folders.Designs all brochures requested by college departments.Designs websites, working closely with the website director.Designs electronic newsletters for mailings and the website.Works closely with campus photographers to get the right shots for layout and to keep photos on the websites fresh.Creates online photogalleries.Work with yearbook staff to create initial yearbook design and oversee page layoutsEssential Personality, Strengths, and SkillsIs passionate about design.Stays current with design trends.Adjusts designs willingly based on peer and supervisor recommendations.Demonstrates a willingness to create multiple versions of a design for consideration.Demonstrates a willingness to help with other projects when the need arises in the office or on campus.Works well with a team of people.Works well under pressure and deadlines.Meets deadlines consistently.Uses Adobe Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).Uses a Content Management Suites for websites or demonstrates the willingness to learn.Designs in CSS or demonstrates a willingness to learn how to design for websites and electronic communications.Understands the capabilities and limitations of the methods and tools in the print and electronic design processes.Additional Beneficial SkillsAbility to take photos when needed.Interest in and qualifications for teaching college courses in layout and design.Ability to design Flash pieces or willingness to learnRequirements: Clear testimony of personal salvation in Jesus Christ.Lifestyle consistent with the ethos of Maranatha.Physical DemandsThe physical demands for this position are minor, and generally consistent with an office jobThe office, however, is designed in a newsroom style—all desks are open and exposed with no cubicles to encourage creativity and communication between members of the team on various projectsThe office is on the second floor of Old Main with no elevator.Work EnvironmentBecause the nature of the office is to market primarily to young people (15-18), the energy level in the office is generally quite high
