Principal Developer / Lead Software Architect

Our passion is to make software that helps architects, engineers and contractors design and build green buildings faster and easier than they do today. There are many new standards for building green, but they are difficult and costly to implement. Customers have told us that they want our software to help them build green. Now we are looking for an experienced and talented software developer to lead our development efforts. The Challenge Your first role will be to design and build the core of our next generation web applications for the construction industry. Building on cloud platforms and leveraging virtualization (Amazon EC2), you will be designing -- and building -- a modular system which can scale up, yet remain fast and very usable.

In parallel you will build a talented development team to launch new products. The role offers the challenge of converting strategy into product by designing a software architecture and developing creative solutions to complex technology problems. You will also have the opportunity to work with a highly motivated team of professionals and build out a top-notch development team for an exciting software company.

Essential Requirements: Proven track record in delivering outstanding AJAX/Javascript/DHTML user experiences Excellent software design and programming skills in a structured language (PHP + Java) Strong knowledge of OOP/modular programming and software design patterns Solid understanding of SQL and ability to create efficient clean sheet database designs Knowledge of XMPP, AMPQ or other message oriented middleware platforms Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and tactful manner Ambition to build and lead a world class development team BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field (MS a plus)
