My client is in need of a experienced ATG/Java Architect. They are looking for candidates that have experience building applications using ATG 6x and higher as well as 5+ years experience in Java and databases, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, XML, etc. Candidates in this position will be responsible for analyzing business needs, defining system requirements,communicating architectural vision, conceptualizing alternative architectural approaches and leading technical development teams using Agile methods. This position will involve leadership, team coordination, and people management and will apply knowledge of analysis tools, operating systems, communication protocols,databases/ data modeling to projects as well as applying knowledge of programming paradigms / standards and when appropriate develop reusable components. Candidates will act as a team lead in leading the technical architecture team of ATG system and leading technical performance assessments of systems, applications and databases as well as producing comprehensive and accurate documentation including the Technical Architecture Document.

To be considered for this position, candidates MUST have at least 5 years of experience in Java programming, building applications using ATG 6.x and higher as well as databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and XML along with knowledge of HTML and JavaScript. Candidates that any of the following experience are desired and would be a plus for the client. Experience in Agile development practices such as scrums, story point estimation, paired programming, and velocity calculation; Experience with content management systems, developing web applications and other business applications preferred especially Alfresco, Vignette and Interwoven; Proficiency in designing distributed systems that can support large numbers of concurrent users, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems
