Responsibilities: This position is located in Arbor Cottage and will serve as building charge and provide supervision to Health Care Technician II and staff that directly care for individuals with severe/profound mental retardation. Position oversees individual treatment, care, and programming; must be capable of lifting and transferring individuals, and gives assistance to staff as needed. Position ensures that staff receive support and supplies necessary to carry out their responsibilities, ensures that required documentation is completed, and ensures that the environment is monitored for infection control and safety issues. Position is responsible for coordinating 1st shift schedules and staff coverage. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of facility policies and procedures; ability to work with staff and communicate effectively with them; ability to teach and instruct others; basic knowldege of working with individuals with developmental disabilities; and ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Skilled ability with NCI (North Carolina Intervention) and CPR. Training and Experience Requirements Three years of experience in health care work at the level of a Health Care Technician I; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be able to pass physical requirements test. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions..
